Lipid Disorders

Lipid disorders, also known as dyslipidaemia, are conditions characterized by abnormal levels of fats (lipids) in the blood, including cholesterol and triglycerides. These disorders can increase the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other cardiovascular problems.

There are different types of lipid disorders, including:

1. High cholesterol: Elevated levels of LDL cholesterol (often referred to as “bad” cholesterol) and/or low levels of HDL cholesterol (often referred to as “good”

cholesterol) can increase the risk of plaque buildup in the arteries, leading to atherosclerosis and heart disease.

2. High triglycerides: Elevated levels of triglycerides, a type of fat found in the blood, can also increase the risk of heart disease and pancreatitis.

3. Mixed dyslipidaemia: This involves a combination of high LDL cholesterol, low HDL cholesterol, and high triglycerides.

We specialize in diagnosing and managing lipid disorders to help reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications. Our experienced team of healthcare professionals offers comprehensive evaluations, lipid profile testing, and personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

Treatment options may include lifestyle modifications (such as diet and exercise), medications to lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and ongoing monitoring to track progress and adjust treatment as needed.
